After the heinous 9/11 attacks, America entered a new era. American troops were deployed around the world to prevent terror attacks and kill the terrorists who planned, funded, and supplied the murder of innocent civilians. This book gives a detailed account of the United States of America’s military action against terror after 9/11 in countries(or warzones, if you would prefer) such as Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Libya, and even Niger as Americans fought back against groups such as Al-Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram, and the infamous IRGC. Not only does this book give accounts of what action was taken against these groups, but it also gives detailed tales of how the United States hunted down and killed the prominent leaders of all the groups listed above. This book, written by master authors Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard, is the unstoppable report on the largest war we have yet to face: The war on terror.
Likes: I like this book as it gave an insight beyond what most people know about the war on terror, as it goes deeper than just the Bin Laden raid and touches the parts of terror that most of us don’t even know about. The way the information is presented makes the reader want to keep reading the book, and even after the book ends you will hunger for more. However, as this book was published in 2022 and it is currently 2026, the circumstances and state of affairs of the details have changed with the times. Plus, after a certain point of time, the structuring of the book does get a little repetitive.
Recommendations: I would recommend this book to anyone ages 16 and above, as it has references to sexual abuse and has some pretty gruesome things in there(such as decapitation.) If you want to know more about current affairs and what the U.S. is doing against terrorism, you will enjoy this book heartily, but be warned that it is graphic.
