A Big Mooncake for Little Star

Plot: This is a book by Grace Lin. It talks about a little girl and a mooncake. The little girl is Little Star and Little Star and her mom live in the night sky. They bake a mooncake together. The mom places the moon cake in the sky and tells Little Star to not eat the moon cake, but that night she wakes up and all she could think was to eat the moon cake! As she eats the moon cake, she creates the phases of the moon!! The author talks about the phases of the moon through this story.

Likes: I like this book because it tells me about the phases of the moon in an interesting and funny way. The illustrations are beautiful and help me understand what’s happening in the story. The pictures explain the phases of the moon very clearly. This book is written by one of my favorite authors, Grace Lin, who has written some amazing books like Where The Mountain Meets the Moon and The Starry River of the Sky. You can check out the reviews for these book on my blog.

Recommendation: I recommend this book to ages 5 years and up since it is very basic and easy to understand. Anyone who likes books by Grace Lin, or likes to learn about natural phenomena through stories will like this book.
