BATTLE -A Visual Journey Through 5,000 Years of Combat

This book by R.G. Grant is completely about warfare. From Egyptian Chariots to modern day helicopters, this book has it all. It has chapters like Warfare in the Ancient World like Greco-Persian Wars, Conquests of Alexander, the Punic Wars, etc., to the Era of the World Wars. The book has images of weapons like flintlocks, mortars, muskets, swords like cavalry , infantry and ceremonial. There are images of anti-tank guns, medals and photos from the battlefield. The book gives descriptions of the wars, the maps, photos and troop movements during that time.

Likes: I like this book because it is about history and a lot about warfare. It has many vivid maps and photographs that tells its readers about what was going on at the time. The language used is very sophisticated. The book contains topics like the Gatling Gun, Julius Caesar, Samurai, Longbows, Guerrilla Warfare, Muskets and Pistols, and my most favorite topic of all time WWII. It is a very interesting book full of facts about battles and I really enjoyed reading it.

Recommendation: I recommend this book to ages 10 and above since it is an encyclopedia and some words may be hard for younger kids to understand. I recommend this book to anyone who likes reading about warfare, famous warriors, history and weapons used in these wars from the past.
