Plot: This is a book by R.J.Palacio. It is about a teenage boy, named August Pullman. He was born with only one eye and misshapen ears. Because of this he has not gone to school until 6th grade. He is picked on and stared at, but in spite of all the bullying he makes some friends and actually enjoys the rest of the school year. The story revolves around August and his four other friends, Miranda, Via, Justin and Jake Will. It is an inspiring story that teaches kids no matter how different you may look, you are still equal.
Likes: I really like this book because it is very interesting and the story is a perfect mix of heartwarming, funny and emotional. It gives perspective from all the five characters in the book.
Recommendation: I recommend this book to kids 10 and above because some of the language in the book is not very nice, basically just how teenagers would talk! It is also a little complex and younger kids might lose interest.
