Surprising Spies-Unexpected Heroes of World War II

This book by Karen Gray Ruelle is about eight allied heroes who risked their lives and their families to fight the evil Nazis around the time of WWII. The book talks about spies like Juan Pujol Garcia, Jasper Maskelyne, Josephine Baker, Eddie Chapman, Virginia Hall, Noor Inayat Khan, Roy Hawthorne, Moe Berg and other heroes who fought the Nazis not by shooting them, but leaking their information to the ones who would. The book explains what these brave spies did and how they did it in the age without internet and little technology.

Likes: I like this book because it talks about one of my most favorite topics, WWII. Also, the book talks about some of the bravest people I have ever read about. There is more text in the book than pictures, which I liked. The author has explained the tricks used by these spies in a very informative way. The book is very interesting and it intrigued me to read on!

Recommendation: I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in events during or around WWII. Anyone who loves to read about spies will enjoy this book. I think kids 9 and up understand and enjoy this book.
