This book by Nathan Hale is about the bloody and brutal war that is called WWI. This book is written in a graphic comic form and narrates true stories from WWI. It features The hangman, the provost, and Captain Hale. These three narrate the story of WWI. The funny thing about that is that it shows animals fighting instead of people! I know it sounds weird, but it does make a lot easier to know which country is which. The story is interesting and the writing style is funny for kids to understand.
Likes: I like this book so much that I’ve already read it multiple times! What I like is that the narration is funny and the pictures make it very interesting for kids to read about historical events. It is not like a documentary, but a funny tale between animals.
Recommendation: I recommend this book to kids 7 years and up, since the historical events are narrated in a not so boring or difficult manner. I think kids will like it and find learning about history very fun!
