What Was D-Day?

This book is written by Patricia Brennan Demuth. Do you want to know what happened during the beginning of the end of World War II? If yes, then this book might just be for you. Learn about what the Atlantic Wall was and how the allied troops fooled Hitler with a fake base and what happened at Bloody Omaha. At the vey end of this book you will find historical photos from D-Day, such as a bunch of troopers crowded on a landing craft and how the Anti Aircraft fire lit up the sky.

Likes: I like this book because the historical photos show what it was actually like on D-Day. Also, the book contains historical information from the battle, like how First Lieutenant, William Moody got his group of 25 men up a sea wall without triggering any landmines. The book talks about why the troops got sea sick on the landing craft and why the U.S. never parachuted troopers at night after the D-Day. The book has many illustrations that describe the events vividly. Basically, this book is full of information.

Recommendation: I recommend this book to ages 8 and above and people who like to read about WWI and WWII. Kids who have read the Who Was, What Was and the Where Is series will like this book.
