Charlotte’s Web

Plot: This book by E.B.White is about a young pig, named Wilbur, who is saved from an untimely death by Fern, the daughter of the farmer. Soon, he is sold to another farmer, Mr. Zuckerman. He feels lonely and has no friends. Then one night, he hears a thin and pleasant voice of a gray spider named Charlotte. She says that she would become Wilbur’s friend. Soon, they become the best of friends. This book is a tale of their never-ending friendship.

Likes: I like this book because it has dialogues between animals. The book also has funny parts, such as Fern’s brother accidentally squashing a goose egg!The book narrates a beautiful story of friendship between a spider and a pig. The language and writing style are very interesting. In the end, the story will leave you feeling happy and a little sad, but I won’t tell you why.

Recommendation: I recommend this book to kids 8 years and above since the story is a little complicated and a little emotional. I highly recommend this book since it’s a fun, fuzzy and a good read. This book was awarded the John Newbery Medal. It’s a must read and even makes a great gift for kids!
