Plot: Julius Zebra is a young zebra who lives in Rome. One day, he is kidnapped by the Roman soldiers and taken to the circus with a warthog, a lion, a giraffe and many more animals. Only the zebra finds out the hard way that he isn’t going to the circus, he is going to be gladiator! During his time as a gladiator, Julius made a whole lot of new friends and a small batch of enemies. Join him in the first book of the series and try not be captivated by the Romans in the book!
Likes: I like this book because it has good humor and a cartoonish twist to it. The writing style is interesting and sometimes in between the story there are pictures of Julius and his friends talking with one another. The story is extremely interesting.
Recommendation: I recommend this book to kids 9 years and older because the book has little bit of language, words like stupid, incompetent buffoons, etc. I am a little over 9 now so my parents were ok with me reading it, as long as I didn’t use this language. The story has a plot that I think older kids will understand better than younger ones.
