Plot: In the almost ghost-town like village of Clear Sky, the moon has been missing and is not showing up at night! A chore-boy, named Rendi, seems to be the only person who has noticed this. Why is the moon missing? Why does Rendi’s master, Master Chao, seem to be always bickering with Widow Yan? What is the odd sound that Rendi hears at night? Find out in this book!
Likes: I like this book because it has fantasy and magic. Also, the vocabulary and the writing style are very interesting. The story is good too.
Recommendation: I recommend this book to anyone who has read the other two books, Where the Mountain Meets the Moon and When the Sea Turned to Silver. by the same author, Grace Lin. This book is not a sequel, but you might be able to understand what’s going on if you have read the other two books. I think kids ages 8 and up will enjoy this book.
