Plot: This book by Roald Dahl is about a kid, Danny, whose father works at a gas station. He first he seems very nice and sparky, but then his dad tells him that he went poaching before. Soon, Danny joins the fun.He accidentally, kind of on purpose, invents a new way to poach pheasants. He then uses his idea to go poaching and get some- wait! why am I telling you this? Find out yourself in this amazing book!
Likes: I like this book because the illustrations may be in black and white but they show a lot an they help you use your imagination a lot. The story is very interesting and it describes what poaching is and how it is done. The story is inspiring to do something innovative, but don’t do poaching, it’s bad for the environment. The writing style is very typical of Roald Dahl and I think it will keep kids engrossed in the book.
Recommendation: I recommend this book to kids 8 years and up as some of the words are a little difficult to understand and younger kids might not even follow the story that well.
