Plot: This book by Roshani Chokshi is a sequel to the first Aru Shah series, Aru Shah and the End of Time. In this book Aru finds out that the bow and arrow of the God of Love has been stolen and the thief is really not trying to make people fall in love! Instead, that person is turning human beings into fighting machines that have no heart and they are called “the heartless”. And if that was not horrible enough, everybody blames Aru for it and they suspect she is the thief. Soon, she and her best friend Mini, find out there are two other Pandava kids-Brynne, who is a reincarnation of the Pandava hero Bheem, and Aiden, who is the reincarnation of –well, I’m NOT telling you, it’s too hilarious!
Likes: I like this book because it is related to one of the Indian epics, The Mahabharat, which is one of my favorite stories ever! I also like this book because the characters use special weapons like ‘the vajra’,’scimitars’, a really cool mace and a death stick called Dee Dee.
Recommendation: I recommend this book to people who have read the first Aru Shah book, and those who are interested in reading a book based on the Mahabharat. It is very interesting, has magical powers, and very cool. It will totally absorb your mind. P.S.- The God of Water was holding an iPad with live cricket match streaming on it and guess who was batting -Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team! That is so cool!
