This book by Bhakti Mathur is about the the Hindu festival Diwali. It has a short story of lord Rama and what happened with him and a tale of when goddess Lakshmi visited the earth. It also tells the story of lord Rama-how he defeated the evil Ravan and and rescued his wife, Sita. Diwali is celebrated to mark his return to his kingdom, Ayodhya and signifies the victory of good over evil.
Likes: I like this book because the text is very basic and easy to read. The story is simple and younger kids will enjoy it too! The drawings are very colorful.
Recommendation: I recommend this book to young kids who want to learn about Diwali. The writing is simple and in poetry form so that makes it fun to read.
