This book by Dana Meachen Rau is a biography of Mahatma Gandhi, who I think is one of the world’s most important people. Gandhi was a freedom fighter who fought for Indian independence against the British. He fought with violence, boycott, strikes, non-cooperation and satyagraha. Gandhi was against violence in any form and tried to make peace between the Hindus and Muslims. It is unfortunate that he died to an assassin’s bullet.
Likes: I like this book because it is a biography and it helps me learn about the history of my country. I also like this book because it has all the basic information about Mahatma Gandhi, such as who he was, his childhood, his education and his contribution to India and Africa, and his death.
Recommendation: I recommend this book because the text is easy to read and if you find a word that you don’t understand, there will always be a word around it it help you figure out its meaning. Also, the pictures in the book make a movie in your mind, even though they are in black and white.
